I think you always meant well, just having a little fun.  But this heart cant take anymore disappointment, so its best to run.  Wounded birds need healing, from a hand that cares but please don’t stop to help, if you know you won’t ever be there....

Isaiah 43:4 - God's Promise

Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I  give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 - Love Is

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I  am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

And if I have prophetic powers,  and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith,  so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give  away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not  love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or  boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it  is not irritable or resentful; ...

I Was Mean Today

Beautiful Blue Birds

Dear God, please forgive me for being mean today, I am so exhausted I couldn't seem to find one nice thing to say.  For the ones who love me and understand, I know their eyes will hold mercy when we meet again.

Sleeping on office couches while waiting for zoom calls to start, troubles outside of work have weakened my normally kind heart.

No one reaches out for help because their life is going great, I need rest so I can be kind and smile while carrying around this weight.

Tomorrow I close the door with instructions on what to do while I am away.  I want to sleep, turn off my phone and let my words come to life for more than a couple of days.   So hate me in a few weeks if I return and haven't changed, if I am still a mean girl and act the same.

Maybe I will return to sit on the island cliffs where I watched the Orcas dance, or drive out west to watch wild horses in the mountains while they prance.  Little voices are begging me to come with them, help them with their "floaties" and watch them while they swim.

For those who never walked through the desert of exhaustion land, there is no way they could be expected to understand.  But if you have and you care for me, days like this when I am not perfect, will test whether or not you will flee.

She had been there for years, a scrappy, happy, friendly little dog loved by all, but being older, her photo rarely made the "eligible for adoption” wall. Too busy playing with volunteers, her friends and loving life to notice potential owners when they came around, well,.. maybe once or twice.

She really didn't notice she missed out time and time again, but the day came when a loving young man adopted Floppy, her best dog friend. She spun around so happy for her, but when the door closed, she realized all her friends were gone and a chill ran over her fur.

A small voice followed closely by fear said, "this small cage may be where you spend the rest of your years". Her favorite blanket left behind by a volunteer who cared, for the first time didn't bring comfort, she looked around at all the puppies and was scared.

Determined to love and make a difference with what time she had left, she loved on other dogs and puppies who arrived scared half to death. One by one she watched them go to their new homes, thankful to have made a difference but there were times she felt alone.

Then a new family visited her for over a year, making many promises to take her home and hold her dear. She decided to take a chance on eight little hands, a huge backyard with an inside bed and lots of love promised by the man.

A few years after she arrived, slowly things changed, and their lack of attention came as a surprise. She continued to love, guard and protect the house, as for the words "I love you" they became as quiet as the dreaded house mouse.

Then the day came when the backyard became her permanent home, even the little hands had grown bored with her and once again she slept alone. She had heard of this from other dogs who had been returned, promises of love and affection would grow to be something only the dogs would yearn.

Then the days came when so many cruel things were said, "what had she done" was the question running through her furry, cute head. Petted and paraded about only on special days, once over she would be put back up into her backyard cage.

Longing for promises and affection from yesterday but they were rarely given so she ran away.  Several times they convinced her to return with promises of a warm house, but soon she was ignored, like their fat cat pretending not to see the dreaded mouse.

She felt pity for them; she had done a good job loving and protecting them every day. She took off her little collar knowing she would never put it on again regardless of what they might say. She anticipated their attempts to keep her for themselves, but never again would she trust in anyone who would adopt her only to be put on an unloved backyard shelf.

She wondered why they were fighting so hard, yet again, for her to return.  She felt nothing but pity with all their words, deeds, prayers and promises of lessons learned. Forgiveness was given taking the burden off of her heart, returning to the shelter and the kindness of friends she would in time, when her heart was ready, make a new start.

Gravity's Undertow

I hear the gentle summer rain and I finally lift my head, I start to feel breathe in my lungs again but up until now the words in my heart were dead. I hear the gentle summer rain and I finally lift my head, I start to feel breathe in my lungs again but up until now the words in my heart were dead. They did it again, yes once again, tore me to pieces while telling me all about my nonexistent sin. Why would the one who betrayed me want to keep me tied down so I can’t run freely into the wind?

Thinking back on it all, I don’t blame them for wanting to keep someone like me, I just may be a rare find and all their negative words,.. well, I don’t think they even believe. My eyes when I look them don’t shine anymore and I don’t have time or room for words that I could use to even this battles score.

Maybe they will take it all, or maybe I will have something left, but my soul, my heart and these words are mine until I breathe my last breath. I like my words even if no one else ever sees them, they are mine. Maybe one day like my Dad’s, they will be kept in a place where they last beyond my lifetime.

How much longer my wild heart cries, “I don’t know” I respond, “we just have to keep praying and trusting the God who does not lie”. I feel peace as my prayers float up into His hands, resting in the small place God has provided for me to be safe from all these shifting sands.

They see the hourglass and try to turn it over again, but the sand has run out. God’s new life for me planted in His greenhouse is well beyond a sprout. Only a miracle in the form of God speaking himself, would make me put my new life and dreams back on a backyard shelf.

Undertows, just like a gravity can take you by surprise, depending on how powerful both can bring fear to your eyes.  Do you give in and let it sweep you away, or do you swim against it knowing today is not the day?

When the moon and stars are hidden from questioning eyes, and there can be no words to answer all the questions why.  On and off the charted trip a ship will go, confused about its direction without beams from the moon's intoxicating glow.

Unbelievable and don't go is what she wanted to say, but so many mixed messages had come her way.  She no longer knew what to do, but trusted love would be there someday if what she heard was true.

She REFUSED to believe anything had been in vain, they had no idea how much their words had eased her heart's pain.  Days so dark and full of tears, had been brightened by the moon for the first time in years.

Sailing on alone it will be okay, she would always love the moon even if it's beams were not there to light her way.

Maybe Sara is running away from chains and cutting words, back to a time when she was free of both and soared like a bird.  Needing to wander for a little while, while recovering from the unexpected after she walked down that aisle.

Maybe Sara is running away from chains and cutting words, back to a time when she was free of both and soared like a bird.  Needing to wander for a little while, while recovering from the unexpected after she walked down that aisle.

Her expectations were not that grand, only to be loved in many ways by the one who held her hand.  Shaped by life in the small town she came from, and the parents who loved and worked together as one.

In their loving example she still believes, and prays one day God will allow her to receive.  It would be a lie to claim their lives were perfect, but her dad always displayed love and gratitude because he was picked.

Her heart holds old fashioned values set in stone by their love, reinforced by words she  received from up above.  Not for everyone she understands, but would rather walk alone than stray from her heart's hopeful plans.

Change

Change, what a ginormous word you are, Sara thought, everyone is impacted by the meaning no matter how close or far.  The cost of ignoring you can be beyond measure, if recognized too late, dreams can disappear like stolen treasure.

Your never too rich, too poor, too smart, too silly, too serious, too old or too young to miss the mark, we all have all ignored you, forced to live with results that tore us apart. The cost of needed change is sometimes high and sometimes low, I suppose that dictates how serious our thoughts and conversations about it go.

Change can come in an instant we all have learned, forcing you to stop and learn to breathe again while figuring out which way to turn.  I am surprised at how long certain changes can take, learning to look to God for the strength to patiently wait.

Despite my great big "brave" words about not being scared of being alone, it is still scary having no idea where you will settle and have a home.  Where will the Christmas Tree and all it's presents go, how can I best stay close to friends and loved ones I know?

But please God, hear my heart, I am ready to do whatever you ask.  I love you and trust you to give me the strength no matter the task.  So help me raise these broken sails so I can set my ship's course, they were right, so I want to listen and line up my will with yours.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord.  Plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

I am blessed and cursed at the same time. Rarely do I feel “just a little," a blessing creating images and words placed by my heart in my mind. I am cursed by the imagination that follows the images I carry with me throughout the day. Sometimes cold and unyielding displayed in my eyes that can cut even the bold, other times so intoxicating I can barely walk unless it is towards the one I need to fall into and hold.

There are days, like TODAY, when music must be placed on mute no matter where I am, too often it’s words and notes draw me into vain imaginations I can’t escape like sinking sands. The silence steadies my heart, my mind, and my feet, I can walk again in freedom, the sand disappears and I am standing strong on what is real and concrete.

If the water I choose to sail on is seasoned with the right amount of salt, I can float forever and never touch the sand. If it is too fresh and empty, I will grow weary and be forced to return to dry land. I long for the seasoned waters keeping me afloat in life’s waves, you never know how big they’ll be, bringing good and bad surprises depending on the day.

**Aftermath of The Storm

She raised her head and looked around, the storm had passed and the sky was clear with no more thunderous sounds. God's soft voice spoke to her heart, "Just stop, don't worry, trust Me, your fears have been unfounded even from the start."

"Be patient, kind and forgiving, to yourself and don't look back again, I have your best interests and a wonderful life planned. You are an imperfect girl with a wounded heart, trying not to get hurt again by what you perceived as vain imaginations surrounding your new start." (relax, no matter what it will be okay)

Then she felt God hug her with forgiveness, mercy and grace. She was able to stop looking down and lift her face. She prayed she would not stop trusting God's perfect timing. So towards the mountains she ran trusting Him as she kept climbing.

  **Crushing Ice Wins

(sigh) Once again she walked towards a church seeking refuge not far from her little ship.  She wanted to hurry but forced herself to slow down so she wouldn't trip. The sounds of the growing ice cracking and squeezing were so loud and strong, (like a growing list of (scary and cold songs) (old scary movie songs) )

The small church came into view, candles lit the windows and she settled into one of the pews.  There were couples all around her holding hands and saying prayers, she had seen them together again and was happy they were there. (They had their special someone for years) (a confusing line of (feats, tears, heat….dear)

She knelt at the altar once again, leaving her confusion and what was most precious to her in God's hands.  (that night?) She tossed and turned and at midnight wrote nonsense in a book, when daylight came the fears had lessened so she almost took a second look.

No reason to look again, they were right  and she was wrong until that day, she would be quiet and have nothing more to say. Her little ship had been crushed because she had sailed too soon.  If she had only been patient and slowed down she would have avoided the ice melting monsoon.

Her Name

What shall I name you now that you are mine?  To think no one has ever given you one blows my mind.   It is as if God saved that honor for me, .......

Your not fancy but you are kinda cute, just the right size for me and "some" of my worldly loot.
